Science Fiction film to be launched soon!

Zimbabwe 2100, an action and science fiction film is set to be launched soon. The film to be shot in Zimbabwe about Zimbabwe is produced by Kudzai Sadomba.

Zimbabwe 2100 is fictitious and it shows a predictable future of Zimbabwe’s socio-economic and political environment by year 2100.

“We need Zimbabweans to understand that in the future, the country is going to be a super power,” remarks Sadomba.

The film features established actors in the form of Precious Musarurwa, Vusa Dzimwasha, Tavonga Mafundikwa, Robert Adolpho, and Betty Rame.

Desire Chasara and Isaac Sado are new actors that also feature in the film.

Sadomba says, “There are also guest appearances for Tapiwa Musoni and George Musumba.”

Three companies namely SM Movies, M&V Productions and Dee Blacks Productions are involved in the production and marketing of the film. SM Movies is responsible for the main production; M&V Production is in charge of visual effects; and Dee Blacks Productions is responsible for marketing and distribution.

The film is going to be released in November and a press statement is going to be released soon to announce the official date.

“We are going to release a press statement in the next three weeks announcing the official release and launching the marketing campaign,” said Sadomba.

In a bid to minimise piracy, Desire Chasara of Dee Blacks Productions believes that premiering the film in movie houses first before mass producing is the way to go.

He says, “We are planning to premier the film in movie houses first in Zimbabwe, South Africa and the international market to minimise piracy.”

Chasara added that they are willing to work with television stations depending on the impact of the film on its release.
