E-learning our priority: Dr Lazarus Dokora

Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Dr Lazarus Dokora says the government is committed to delivering education solutions through digital learning as it strives to ensure that all Zimbabwean children embrace technology in their academic upbringing.

Addressing teachers, parents and students at East View nursery school in Harare recently, Dr Dokora said the government is bent on ensuring that children are trained to develop practical skills.

“The government is bent on ensuring that children who are recipients of infant education are trained from an early age to embrace not only academic learning but also develop practical skills,” he said.

Cde Dokora also said the provision of e-learning services must be a priority for all school going children right from infant education.

Fake news: An insidious problem

Lazarus Sauti THE INTERNET is an amazing place, crammed with information from different news sites, but the only problem is that some devious elements are using it to cause alarm and despondence as well as destroying people’s lives. An escalating number of fake and spoof sites are exploding on a daily basis, spreading phony reports like wildfire on the Internet. Most people in southern Africa woke up to a bogus news report recently suggesting that popular South African gospel artiste, Lundi Tyamara, had died after suffering from multiple diseases including anal cancer, chest pains and abdominal tuberculosis.
